Custom Order Policy

1. The Retainer

The first step in mutual collaboration is a non-refundable retainer, a Good Faith deposit signaling a commitment to proceed with the project. It ensures that our efforts in sourcing and evaluating stones, as well as the designer’s artistic input, are compensated.

2. The Point of Sale

A Purchase Order (PO) is a binding contract outlining all costs, terms, and conditions of the sale. Signing it constitutes full acceptance of all terms without exception.
Once the PO is signed, it becomes a mutually binding agreement that cannot be revised or canceled under any circumstances.
The execution of every design aspect must be left to the artist’s discretion, except for the specifications explicitly described in the Purchase Order.

3. Purchase Order

Both sides verbally agree to the purchase at the moment the sale takes place. Once the agreement is reached, the Purchase Order will be drafted and sent to the client for signature. Both parties must honor the verbal agreement until the order is processed and paid for.
Clients who fail to follow through with payment for an agreed purchase will be refused any future services or transactions.

4. The Deposit

Custom orders require a deposit — typically 50% of the total, minus any retainer if applicable.

The deposit is non-refundable. Full payment upfront is required for:

  • Custom-made wedding bands

  • Work with simulants, lab-grown, synthetic, treated, or semi-precious stones

  • Projects involving low-value gems

  • Conceptual or unusual designs

  • Work with fragile gemstones (e.g., emeralds or tanzanites)

5. Collection and Fees

All special orders must be paid in full before shipment or pickup. If desired, we can provide a 3D-printed CAD resin model before production, so you can be confident in your design. Your satisfaction is our highest priority—if any aspect of our craftsmanship falls short, we will repair or remake the piece to meet our exacting standards.

6. Production

Production begins on the day the PO is signed.
Due to the bespoke nature of custom jewelry, deadlines cannot be guaranteed.
We are not responsible for any monetary losses due to production delays.

Custom work cannot be returned unless explicitly covered by the Tranquility Program, as stated in the PO.

Upon receiving the item, clients have 10 days to report any damages or issues with quality.
Claims must include specific details. Failure to do so within the time frame constitutes irrevocable acceptance of the goods.

7. Sales Tax

We do not collect sales tax on items shipped outside New York State or internationally.

A 8.875% New York State sales tax applies to items delivered within New York or picked up at our Manhattan location.

All import duties for international orders are the client’s responsibility.
